Workshop: Creating an Herb Garden for Its Leaves

Join us for our second workshop in our new family food garden workshop series: Seed, Leaf, Root Fruit. This informative and interactive series is designed to educate and engage families in the wonders of growing their own food.

Tasty Harvests Food Garden Coach Safiyat Hamiss will lead a fun workshop on creating an herb planter for its leaves.

All ages are welcome to join and learn about the wonders of growing our own food

Join us from 3:30-4:30 pm on June 5th.  

Register by May 31st and receive a kit with herb plants, soil and a guide so that you can start your own herb garden! (One per family)

Unlock your inner food gardener by exploring the exciting world of herbs! At this event with Sudbury Valley Trustees you will build your own herb planter of tasty herbs with Safiyat Hamiss and Tasty Harvests.

All materials will be provided: planter, weed barrier fabric, potting soil, and 3-4 herb plants (choice of herbs may include: mint, sage, lavender, rosemary, parsley, chives, cilantro, oregano, thyme).

This workshop will focus on indoor school gardening with no outdoor space required! You will leave with ideas on best practices for the indoor school garden, projects you can do indoors to engage students, and how to get started!

Temple Beth Sholom invites the Open Spirit community to join this special holiday event. Guest educator, Safiyat Hamiss of Tasty Harvests and Open Spirit will guide us through creating our own seed starter kits. Stay for a special Tu B’Shvat Fruit Seder. Learn about our Tree Fundraiser! Learn about Tu B'Shvat, or "the birthday of the trees," and meet new friends! You are also invited to participate in Temple Beth Sholom's Tree Fundraiser to help replace trees on the temple grounds that have been lost in recent years during weather events.
